Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me?

Brought Blade in from the field today and he's lame on his right hind.
There is no heat, and his right leg is always a little bit swollen as he always puts all his weight on that leg when he's asleep, because my silly animal won't lie down at night, but the leg isn't anymore swollen than usual. :(
I checked all his legs, nothing in them, washed them and dried them, again nothing physically wrong,
But someone from the yard said he might have pulled a muscle?
Is this likely and if so what do I do to solve it?

In case this matters on his right fore he got a nail in it on tuesday, got it out, washed the hoof with hibiscrub,
Put a poultice on etc and he was fine, carried on spraying purple spray on it and it look like nothings happened now.
Also, he* might * have a very mild case of thrush, which I'm treating with purple spray _ just in case - however I don't think
It is thrush, but maybe just me over reacting.
He also had the physio out last sunday for his back, and she gave him a full body massage - maybe this had an effect?

Genuinely have no idea what could be wrong, and how to solve it, or if its a pulled muscle or not - I'm clueless! :(
Thank youu! I just wanna sort him out asap; I don't like it when he's hurt :(

Xx

If you have no idea what is wrong with your lame horse, then you need to get the vet out to diagnose the problem. How old is he? Maybe he doesn't lie down because he is having trouble getting up, arthritis might be the cause of this and the lameness.

I know you said there was no heat but was there any heat in the actual foot at all (as in hoof)? Abcesses or puss in the foot has been the thing this month - my boy came in with one tonight near hind though :). Just shows up as lameness no heat usually in the leg (although my boy is a hypercondriac and came in with a swollen leg and lots of heat!!) just heat in the hoof :)

He's only 4, he dxoesnt liw down because he's a nervous type of horse....

Snowysadude - thanks; I will check again this morning. And update this post :)
I hope your lad is okay?
