Should I turn my TB out tomorrow with no rug on? It is lovely and warm and mild during the day at the moment, but it is cold and foggy at 6am tomorrow morning when I am at the yard

And there is no-one who can take the rug off when it warms up....

He was out today in a M/W Amigo (which is actually a L/W IMHO

) and had not sweated up and did not appear unduly warm when I went to get him in at 3.30pm...

So should I stick to leaving a rug on him? He was fully clipped two weeks ago, and is a typical TB (i.e. does not keep condition on very well!) Not quite sure what to do

I put my two tbs out without rugs today but that was 8.30 and one has only trace on her neck and the other has full coat. If hes clipped I would keep him warm especially if he loses condition. Is it your tb in pic he has same markings as my new mare.

MIne go out at 7.30 and have been naked for the last 2 days. My neighbours horses were out in rugs today and I felt so sorry for them as it was so nice. For me I would turn out without unless he is a shivering wreck.
This weather may not last so take advantage of it while it's here!!

Ah thank you, I wondered if I was being unkind but I shall pop him out tomorrow with a L/W rug on and feel OK about it

very difficult - it was 0 degrees this morning when I did mine, I did however take his rug off as beautifully sunny so soon warmed up. At 4pm it was 18 degrees (according to my outdoor clock thingy) so I couldnt rug then (in fact I threw the LW on whilst he was eating his tea as knew it was going to be cold tonight but he started warming out pretty quickly so took it off again. At 6.30pm it was down to 8 degrees so rug went on then. Luckily mine are at home so easy to pop up to do rugs but I did wonder what I would have done if they were at a yard......

I was worried about taking my girls onesie (fleece under blanket with neck and belly, kinda cuddles her in fleece) off. She now only got her 350g Rambo Ultimate with neck rug on and I was considering that she might be too cold! It must be warmer in England, up here it's still jacket weather for me so it's jacket weather for my girl

My mare who was fully clipped is still wearing a MW with no neck in the field, but she gets 5-10 mins rugless in the arena or just before bringing in for bed.

Shes got a coat like silk, so I'm loathe to let her get cold and ruin it.

I felt awful today as I turned mine and my friends 7 out with MW rugs on. Mine is clipped but is a warm horse. I expected toasted horses this afternoon but they were all fine. We got 14 degrees this afternoon.
I did umm and ahh about it but the truth really was the thought of brushing 8 horses to re rug tonight as I had to get done quick

My TB with a hunter clip was naked today & was warm enough - he's quite a 'chilly' horse so he would soon have let me know!
Tonight he's stabled in a MW with no neck.
My other unclipped TB has shed his rugs even in the stable, however when I turn out full time he'll wear his LW at night & also during the day if the temp drops again.

Unclipped ISH was out naked today. The clipped ISH had on her Rambo Sweet Itch Hoodie.

If you don't feel ready to take the plunge, what about turning out in a fly sheet?
