What is it? Horse at work had it done because he fell at he gate at Burghley because he couldn't breath.
He was retired from eventing after that even though the op was a success.
When he rolls he makes a horrible almost straining noise. I've been told this is because he is hob-aided. Why would it cause that noise when he rolls.

If you turn the volume right up, as he gets up in this vid you can hear the noise.

Do you mean hobdayed? This is for roarers (laryngel hemiplegia) and is where where a small piece of the larynx is removed to help them breathe. They shouldn't exhibit too much noise after the op but usually are unable to neigh very well.

Ah yes hobdayed. Must be me hearing wrong. I guess he was a roarer when competing then. He doesn't make a noise when riding now just that noise when rolling.
