Hello fellow fieldmates, I am new to this forum so hello ! :)

Yesterday there was a horse sale at Hobbs Parker, (Ashford in Kent) and I had to leave before the bidding started for lot 34, Harry, the results on their website say that Harry was not sold and I would love to be able to contact his owners as if they are still looking for a nice loving new home for him I think I can offer it to him. If by any chance anyone knows who might own him or you are his owner reading this please would you contact me - He would have a loving forever home and the company of two sweet mares ! My name is Samantha

Hi

Thank you , I did phone them and I got the lecture that they are an auction house and they can't encourage offers outside of the sale day..... I said I am aware and respectful of that and aware that they charge a fee, I would even go some way to pay them a goodwill payment to pass my details on and he said he would speak to the relevant person and see what the owners instructions were in the event of no sale, but I feel like I know he didn't even write my number down !

I thought if I posted it on here somebody might think aha! I know who that is !!! I guess I need to have some faith in the guy I spoke to at Hobbs Parker ! I will post again if I do get a call from them or the owner.. fingers crossed :)

Ah ok, I have contacted them before to get in contact with an owner (granted I did buy the horse at the sale) but needed to ask them something and they got the girl to email me

he was unsold according to the catalogue. I'd try ringing hobbs parker again and explain that you wished to buy him but had to leave urgently before the sale and hence missed him but could they contact the vendor and ask them to call you. Alternatively you could try posting on Kent Equestrian grapevine to see if anybody knew who the seller was and contact them directly yourself from there.

Hi, thank you yes I will try to call them again, hopefully being Saturday I might speak to someone more accommodating who may not be so strict about things(I doubt the fee earners work the sunny weekends !!) and I will try the grapevine, thank you :)

It's the grapevine then next !! I phoned Hobbs Parker and there's nobody working in the Auction dept today so that's a refusal at the first !!!!

Thank you :)

Hi

I did log onto the Kent Equestrian Grapevine on Facebook and a lady who had tried him out in May replied to me giving me the owner's number who I called this morning and said she sold him last week !!!! Bound to have been at Hobbs Parker on the day after he wasn't sold in the ring I bet !! Sorry it only amuses me because they are so greedy and obstructive !
A little sad about the horse though especially when the lady said how nice he was, still, let's just hope he has got himself a loving new fun home, thank you for suggesting the Grapevine though I never knew about it and it did bring results ! :)

Yes quite ! But they did fail to sell the horse on the day....and they would have earned a fee out of me......... so he was just being awkward really !!!! Anyway, it didn't matter I found the seller's phone number without his help !!
