Hi - my horse has hock arthritis and has had Tildren and hock injections as treatment so far. I am also looking at Magnetic boots to see if that may help. Does anyone have any experience with using these with a horse with bone spavin?

My mare has arthritis in her hocks and had treatment (injections) a good few years ago now and it worked a treat and she was like a new horse and we had many more years of going out and about.
There is no scientific results to prove that magnetic boots help...but many people say they do 'something' which helps. I bought all the magnetic stuff...didnt make any difference to her legs.
I have her on Newmarket Joint Supplement and she gets daily turnout on good ground. She is now 23yrs old and been retired for a few years now. She has bute if needed ie ground goes too hard for her in summer.
You want to try anything to help out and it is personal choice - maybe try the boots and see how your horse goes but the treatment at the moment should have such an effect as you wont be able to tell if the magnetic boots are doing anything anyway. Maybe talk to your vet who carried out the treatment...I consulted mine after my horse had hers and we discussed what was right for my mare.
Good luck!

I have a magnetic rug and boots. I haven't noticed any benefit from the magnetic boots, but 30minutes with the rug before riding seems to have a good effect. It seems to work, so sticking with it!

Not really, she also hated them.

They did something for a while but it didnt last.

She was first diagnosed with spavin 3 years ago, now retired :( kicking my self now for not going for the injection. At the time I was a student still and vet said to me that he couldnt see the point in a lightly hacked pony having the treatment.
