Hello fellow H&H'ers.

Does anyone have any knowledge/experience of hock drilling a horse for osteorarthritis treatment?

My 8yr old pony was operated on in June this year and is doing OK. But recovery seems a really slow process. Have been told by vet that when she's right she'll be able to go back to normal rc activities etc. But having not done anything with her all summer, just don't know when we're gonna be on the right road.....

Just wondered if anyone had any experience/info/advice etc.

Thanks for any info.

I knew a Welsh D that was about 7 when he had it done - was on a yard I was on. By the time I knew him was about 8 or 9 and coming back into work.
He returned to full work. I did not understand the principle behind it and thought the owner had got the wrong end of the stick but someone else on the yard said he definitely had had his hocks drilled. Not much help but maybe some hope for you:)
