So pony had hock injection with (?) MSN on Monday morning, box rested for 24 hours after and turned out Tuesday. All calm and grazed with his friend, nothing exciting happened. Injection site cool, no swelling and all going to plan. Today however, he ended up doing the wall of death around the strip he comes in on during the day (about 30m x5m long, no grass as he’s an EMS type) after something spooked him. Will he have messed up the medication? This is a pony who is normally so chilled when he’s in. I know exercise is meant to be gentle - which galloping and fly bucking is not. He’s sound, and looking very pleased with himself….. Should I contact vet, or will the medication have done its job? Previous vet always said just crack on 24 hours after hock injections, new vet said 24 hours in, then field test and gentle walking for a week before cracking on. No one mentioned pony having bonkers episode in field 72 hours post injection.… Anyone had similar?
