Hock sores

Hi guys,

Any ideas on what I can use on my mare's hocks overnight in the field; she's living out and where she's so fine and bony, when she lays down she scrapes the outside of her hock. Usually just the one side. But she's getting open sores on her hocks from it. They heal up with a bit of dermagel, then open again. My concern is that most hock boots either won't cover the area just above her hocks, or won't stay on.
Ideas please? Have never had to use hock boots before! Next resort is just to keep her in but she's better out at night and this only happens when we don't have rain so ground is solid.

Thanks in advance x

I had this problem with my old boy in his stable. I bought various hock boots which were always down round his "ankles" in the morning.
I had some success with tubigrip for people as you can pull it up over the hock. I think you can get turnout boots /wraps that come up over the hock.
