What is the correct turnout for showing a 2 year old non-traditional cob type?

He is appaloosa x so has the typical whispy mane and whilst it can plait up ok, I am wondering if it would be accptable to just hog the lot off?

Havent made my mind up yet as to what looks better as I actually love plaiting up, but think being hogged might suit him better.....

Personally I wouldn't hog at 2 years. I'd make the best of a poor mane or simply leave it unplaited.

Thanks Amymay - I would be quite happy to plait up, reason is I have had a few people tell me I should hog him but I dont think Iive ever seen any youngtock classes with hogged horses in them...

His mane is'nt that bad but would definitely look worse just left loose so plaiting is probably the best option!
