Hi,

I would like to know if anybody knows the brand "Holberg" ?

I have inherited a saddle from my mother which indicates "Quality Olympic saddelery" Holberg nr 2241 Spring seat; "made in England"

It should be at least 50 years old but still in good shape.

Anyone who has an idea what it could be worth today ? I might sell it, because I'm not a horse-rider myself.

Sadly very little. Saddle design has moved on a lot and theres just no market for older saddles. No one wants them to use them on a horse and theres no market for them as antiques or collectables.

Why dont you look to have it made into a stool or similar? I've seen some beautifully done.

Yes this, and I'm a professional saddle fitter. It might even have a broken tree which is absolutely harmful to a horse, best to cut through the webbing holding the girth straps on and then use it for furniture, but not for putting on a horse.
