Have just seen one up close. Well, I cannot imagine why anyone would ever buy such an awful saddle - have also seen the poor recipient of the saddle with the most massive dips to the rear of where the saddle would sit. A lovely, saintly horse, ruined by a saddle that the very well meaning people who loaned her bought from a proper rip off couple. Absolutely ruined her back, and she is an older horse who would take a lot to come back from it. The people who loaned her who bought the saddle it would seem didn't have enough knowledge

Dreadful leather, awful fit.

Sadly the owners of these awful saddles are located fairly close to my area.

PLEASE don't anyone buy them - I would imagine they are made by someone who has absolutely no idea of a horses confirmation and wouldn't care anyway.

Incidentally they were also suppliers of Freemax Saddles - another awful poorly made immitation of treeless saddles.

Am posting to name and shame. Was horrified to see the saddle and the effect it had on this horses back - I had known this horse at a previous livery yard I was on a few years ago - before she went out on loan with a proper saddle - no such issues.

I think it was Wagtail on here that bought one. She returned it and I don't think the customer service was exactly, er, customer focused...

Lousy product. Lousier supplier.

Hi all - just adding to this thread. I’ve just bought a d flex saddle from helpyourhorses.co.uk. Wish I’d seen these conversations before I bought but can thankfully send back. Saddle purports to be German but is so badly made it looks like it’s made in china or India. All parts are glued and stapled together and screws and staples were sticking out under the flaps on mine. Doesn’t look like it would last five minutes and looks like it would easily fall apart whilst being used. The saddle is a special draft saddle but is so poor it weighs half as much as my shire’s current small saddle. Again would advise to stay away!

Unless you really know your saddles then the adage buy cheap buy twice springs to mind. There are some fab italian, french and german makes but you will be able to find big professional websites for these makes and prices in the multiple thousands. If you want more affordable go for older second hand walsall made saddles or the likes of wintec/thorowgood 🤢which are safe if not very pretty.

If you have never heard of them and they dont have a good on line presence then just avoid avoid avoid… vets bills are so much more stressful and expensive than finding a decent saddle. And tbh if you cant afford 300 quid on an older well made saddle you should ride bareback or not have a horse at all.
