Hole in field

Over the winter a hole in the ditch of my horses field has appeared. There is an electric fence but you can now see into the field as the hole is quite big. The field is right beside the road. It's really open. Just a bit worried of horse thieves
I told the YO and the reply was "But he wasn't taken up to now was he"
Don't know what to do now
Am I overreacting???

Sorry if I'm being a numpty, but I'm struggling to picture what has happened. Is it a hole in a hedgeline somehow? Other than the electric fence, is there another 'barrier' to stop the horse getting out or people getting in.

Not sure how a ditch stops him being visible :/

I wouldn't be too worried about visibility, but more about physical barriers.

I too don't quite understand? If the hole could either cause a horse to get it's leg stuck or escape it would concern me. But in all honesty if someone wants to steal your horse they'll do it hole or not.
