(also posted in new lounge)) We are thinking of going to Exmoor next week for a couple of days with 2 well behaved Cocker Spaniels. Can anyone reccomend a dog friendly hotel preferably with king sized beds (for us not the dogs!) and also some walks that will let us experience the beauty of Exmoor though not to strenuous has my OH has a deskbound job and is not very fit! Also reccomendations of good places to eat would be welcome. Thanks.

We visit Exmoor every year and take our pack (2 Lurchers & 2 Terriers) we always stay self catering and stay in Withypool at a place called Westerclose http://www.westerclose.co.uk/ There are lots of dog friendly pubs on Exmoor, ones we eat at and take dogs in with us are Royak Oak in Withypool http://www.royaloakwithypool.co.uk/ White Horse in Exford (they also do dog friendly B & B) http://www.exmoor-whitehorse.co.uk/ and Culbone Stables Inn (also have dog friendly accom and wonderful food http://www.theculbone.com/ We do a bit of walking but go mainly for the hunting however there are loads of walks over the moors - some short such as the loop around the Tarr Steps (all our 5year old could manage!. Hope this helps and that you enjoy it :-)

The Exmoor White Horse at Exford as mentioned in the previous post. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

My husband and I have stayed there many times with our dogs, it is a fab hotel, very welcoming to dogs and serves great food. It is very central with lots of walks straight onto Exmoor directly from the hotel. The staff try really hard to make sure that you have a great time and the hotel has lots of information on walks (both short and long).
