Hollow Hooves!!??

My friend is looking after a horse at the moment and he has told me twice a day the horses feet have to be treated as they are hollow!!

now i've not seen this first hand, but he said its in ever hoof, and if you "knock" on them, they pretty much echo!!

I thought its very odd, doesnt affect horse walking.

Does anyone know what this might be?

There is a condition called Hollow Hoof Disease, I don't know what it is, and it may have a newer name. You could ask TheFarrier on here.

Seedy toe/white line disease causes hooves to sound hollow.

seedy toe? my boy has it in front and they sound hollow

ohhh thanks... yeah that is what it is, read through the information. I'd never really heard of it before so was really interesting.
