Hollyhocks

Friend has told me they are poisonous to horses, and that they find them palatble

There are hollyhocks growing around the edges of a field our horses are due to go in (within easy reach of the neds).

Do they need just chopping back, or digging up?

It's not on this list, or any others I checked so I don't think it's that bad. We are constantly fighting bracken here - it's more difficult to get rid of than ragwort!

We've a bed of hollyhocks outside the garage, pony has tasted them once and didn't like them, far preferred the grass
