Take a look at my Holsteiner stallion Condios at http://morningside-stud.com
He's producing very good eventers and showjumpers with high rideability.
A 6-y-o gelding by Condios just won a novice event in Ireland. (That horse was the 4-y-o Future Event Horse League Vice-Champion.) There are several successful eventers by Condios in the UK, also.
His chilled semen can be sent to the UK with EU health papers.
Condios is approved by 12 studbooks so there are many options to register the foal.
I would be a little wary about putting Stedinger onto a TB, as his youngsters can be hot. Should know...have one at home out of a half TB mare by Prince Thatch, and boy does she have attitude just now...
Have you looked at any of the Quainton Stallions as there are many there from Holstein origins as well. As Tom has said Morningside have some lovely stallions as well. Or there are the stallions of Brookhouse or the Pidgleys. Or look through the various breed society websites at their stallions to see if any catch your eye..
Sambertino is nearly half TB & good at putting a "sensible" head on his progeny - last year a 5yr old daughter out of a TB dam won at BE Novice & qualified for the PAVO Eventing champs.
Souvenir is another stallion who may be worth considering - he is a 17.0hh Black Hanoverian & Oldenburg approved stallion who had good jumping scores on his performance test, although he competes in Dressage. He also has a calm temperament & is line bred to Argentan.
Lord Calando is a Holsteiner if that's what you're looking for. He's the uterine brother of Carthago Z, but carries a lot of blood. He's a proven sire of international jumpers, but is also well used as an eventing sire in France, he gives movement and looks: http://www.frenchstallions.org/french_stallion_detail.php?stallion=2007017
Take a look at the Quainton Stud Stallions (Holsteiner, Zangersheide, Westphalian). In particular you may want to look at Chadron Quainton, a lot of eventers have been breeding to him as he has lovely dressage quality movement, a big forward reaching jump and a very easy going and willing personality. He also has good bone and size to him.
I too like Chadron Quainton. Of the Quainton boys I am also partial to Stallone Quainton and Classic Quainton - both their younger stallions.
Have a look also at Caretino Glory and Brendon Stud. He is being used a LOT for producing eventing stock and does throw bigger stock if you want to put some size on the foal. We have one at my yard by him and out of an eventing mare and he really is a top class eventing type yearling. I also teach a couple people with Caretino Glory sired pot eventers coming up who are nice and Pippa Funnel's eventer grand prix mare, The Tourmaline Rose has also had a couple of foals to him.
Another couple of good continental stallions are Chico's Boy (sire of BEF event champ. Classic Primitive) and also a young stallion called Sandro Beast who stands at Enterbrook stud (www.enterbrook.nl). He is classically bred, being by Sandro Boy and so having very classic SJ and Dressage bloodlines. He himself could easily SJ or do pure Dressage and recently graded as Excellent with the Zangersheide studbook.
The deceased Holsteiner stallion Cavalier Royale was been the best or one of the best sires of international eventing horses in recent years, according to the WBFSH rankings. He made his contribution when bred to mares in Ireland.
If one consults the data one will find that there are many internatioanal eventing horses that are Holsteiner or have 50% or more Holsteiner blood. For a studbook that produces only 3,500 foals a year it makes a major contribution to eventing breeding. And it is a studbook and breeding culture that puts a high value on rideability.
My advanced mare is half Holstein by Landino.
I'd also give a thuimbs up for Chico's Boy as eventrider said, moves and jumps!
Wouldn't consider Sir Donnerhall for an eventer, wrong movement IMHO - those Xc shots are just from the performance test which all stallions have to do in Germany, dressage bred or not.
Get yourself to the stallion parade on Easter monday as plenty of jumping stallions there
How about Chairman, a holstein stallion by cor de la bryere and has lord and ladykiller on the dam's side. two very good lines of holstein breeding. we have 2 of his offspring, both holst x TB, both have good conformation, lovely temperments, paces and an amazing jump. the stallion is a half brother to cavalier royale
