Had a look at the new layout for the BHS exams as I am taking my 2 next weeks. Turns out I won't actually have my 2 now until I take the 2 Teach. Which is an additional £150. The whole stage 2 was only £215 😵
Then went and looked at prices for stage 3. £630!!! That's my monthly rent! Felt a bit sick! Looks like I won't be able to become an AI for a long time?!
Why the hike in prices? Anyone got any thoughts?!

Not only UKCC. The Pony Club tests seem to go further than they used to which is interesting. If you are under 25 that is a route well worth exploring. The fees to sit area wide tests such as the B, AH and A test are capped. The B test is only £50 I think and the AH/A not much more. Might have the slightly odd impact of driving folk toward the pony club.

The direct entry requirements are here https://pathways.bhs.org.uk/media/1349/directentryguidance042017.pdf

Pony club is on page 3.

Another vote for UKCC here if it's the teaching aspect of the levels you're after. I've done my level 1 and it did have horse care stuff in it (very basic), your riding isn't examined, but your coaching/teaching is. I personally found it really useful.

In my area there seems to be more and more folk, even established BHS instructors, going down the UKCC route. I've seen a lot of criticism of the system, but I wonder if those criticising have looked at the teaching/exam materials and seen just how in depth it is when you get higher up.
