I have found what I think is a good recipe as follows: 1kg uncooked rice, Half cup oats, half a cup milk, 2 tbsp parsley, 8oz (240grms) mince, 6oz liver, 3tbsp oil, 3 beaten eggs with shells, 500g mix veg. All this makes 5kgs of made up food. I am just a little worried that there is not enough meat in it? I am not sure what the percentage of meat should be. I also add a Calcium and Omega 3 oil tablets per meal. Can anyone help?

Sorry, didn't mean to sound snarky :o it's great that you're feeding such a natural diet.
Personally speaking I don't think you can go wrong with things like liver, meat and eggs, I don't know what rice, milk oats or parsley etc would add to that.

on this board people generally feed/try/or want to if they could raw 100% meat. It is thought (known) that dogs shouldnt really be eating grains etc. But feeding RAW isn't practical for some people so they feed kibble and people try to find a kibble with the highest meat content that they can.

I'm sure your dog enjoyed his home cooked meal though! He might just have loved just the meat, uncooked more! :)

Why uncooked rice ? Surely it would swell inside your dogs tummy? Mine ate uncooked rice once was sick within the hour. If you want to get omega 3 in how about a mackeral or some sardines once a week? Diet tends to balance out over a dew

500g is a lot of some thing of a food that dogs gain little nutrition from. Maybe see if he will eat mince egg and liver with out any of the other stuff? Is this what you wholey feed or just treats?
