Home made Hay Bars?

No photos as I'm at work, but I made the OH make me some haybars. We used OSB board, its slightly angled, and is fixed to the sides on wood battons. There is a gap at the bottom big enough for dusty bits to be swept out, but not big enough for any horse to get their feet stuck. If I remember when I get home I will take a photo for you. One of mine has decided to eat the top of his though, and I'm going to get a metal strip to fix to it for next winter when they are back in.

My Dad made me one out of some plywood a few years ago and it has lasted well and cost hardly anything! He basically attached two brackets on opposite walls in the corners of the stable (which were bits of wood with groves down the middle) then cut a piece of ply to slide into the groves, so I could lift the wood up and clean out properly when required. It works really well

Here is my one, just made of plywood too, had it about 8 years and feel a bit embarrassed at how grubby the flash has made it all look! Have sprayed crib stop on the top where my horse has recently decided it looks edible.
I put his hard food in the manger, and remove this and put his hay in. The bottom piece isn't fixed so we can lift it out to get rid of all the hay seed!
