Homemade corner hay manger/feeder ideas for stable?

As title, I really want to stop using nets and would like to build corner mangers instead but need some inspiration!

Has anyone built their own before?

Pictures would be amazing and any ideas on materials and ways to keep cost down would be much appreciated!

No pictures, but my old yard made one for me out of a sheet of plywood - they attached batons to each wall cut at an angle, so that a plywood sheet would sit square on them. Leave a gap at the bottom (high enough off the ground that you can easier get a brush into) so that dust can fall out.

One cheap sheep hurdle, attached across the corner so the long side is vertical. Easy to clean out, ground feeding. If you need slower feeding or are worried about a foot being put into it, line it with chicken wire or fencing grid wire.

I know it's not DIY, but if you wanted to save time and faff I really rate the "haybars" from bold-box, I have 8 of them on my yard for my own horses and the liveries.

easy, two batons screwed into the wall on each side, then a piece of ply cut so that it will slide down behind the batons. Just pull it out when you want to clean out.

A good cheap one I saw was made using a holey rubber door mat in a curved shape (or one of those field mats depending on what size is needed) the horses ate from the top like a hay bar

Fab thanks for the ideas, I like the ideas of the grass mat as less risk of hurting themselves on it.

The bold box hay bars look great but would cost me £100 for two which is a more than i'd like to spend ideally

Don't people have problems with horses just pulling the stuff out of the corner? My friend has two haybars, and one of the horses just pulls it straight out and tramples it into her bed.

Ycbm, yes I am aware this could be an issue, I will see how they get on but I know some people bungee the hay down or just put the hay in a net and tie it to the bottom.

My reason for putting them in is just to get them eating from lower down/ the floor so will tackle that hurdle when/if we get there!

In that case, you could just try feeding from the floor first- if they don't play with it, you might not need anything!

It's worth bearing in mind that hay can't / won't stay tightly oacked in a bar, so if you need to feed a lot you need a fairly large bar to accommodate it as loose hay.

I feed straight from the floor - current neddy is tidy about it. If i had anither messy one, i might start by weighing hay down with a clean tyre before i trued a hay bar.
