..or even personalised ones? Not sure how to put it!

Basically, bought a cottage craft rope braided fly veil today (only one i could find for reasonable price in the colours i wanted) which was only available in one size.
Tried it on him, was a good size, no flappy bits so put it on and off we went (he's used to fly veils, ride him in them all summer, he's had one on all summer already)
Anyway, get on and turns out, the ears are HUGE!! why can't they make the ears so they actually fit?!

turns out, the fact that the ears are so big really annoys him, almost as much as actually having flies on his ears and he couldn't concentrate on anything, it was really bothering him.

so, the question..
does anybody/has anybody altered their fly veils so they actually fit the ears, or does anybody else have the same problem?

I've seen people who sew the top part down so that they're not all floppy at the top. This seems to work well.

Its easy to alter the ears... they are always too big for mine.
When my granny was alive she crochet several for our horses, 20 years on they are still going strong!
