Opinions please! Reason I ask is somebody has asked if I would do a commission but not sure how I compare to a pro

If somebody's asked for a commission, they obviously like your work. So doesn't matter how you compare to a 'pro' And I think it's very good, wish I was talented at drawing.

That is really good! The detailing on the bridle and the eye are especially good.
I would maybe soften the drop down to the chin as it seems quite sharp * i don't know if that makes sense - i mean it's quite like verticalish at the moment, maybe like curve the join a bit more to make it more realistic and softer, if you get me) and make the nostril a little darker, but it may be darker, but i can't tell much because of the quality of the pic.
I don't know if that made any sense

It looks good to me. As Brontie says, if someone has asked for a commission they must be prepared to pay!

Why not accept it on the basis that if they don't like it they don't pay? I have a good friend who does pet portraits who I think has worked on that basis before. You have to start somewhere after all...

Its very good, but id rather buy a pic with bigger darker eyes on the horse, like my old boy had! but thats a personal choice.

I think you need much more practice - I will find 3 photos of my ponies (one no longer with us i am afraid) and i suggest you pracitce and send me what you draw pronto (critical apprasial will be made in full) ! and i expect at least two drawings of each (shuffles off to find space on walls for beautiful drawings)
