long story short- after many months of searching for the perfect horse -ive finally found him! the seller was totally honest about him, allowed me an 8 week trial and hes a total saint ! there is nothing about him i would change AT ALL!! hes fun and completely no-nonsense ( too good to be true). in short she didnt lie because she didnt need to! she turned many people away because they wernt right for him-and i am totally delighted with my new pal.:D:D:D hes 16.2hh dapple grey anglo arab so totally stunning too. so HIP HIP HURRAH for honest people!!

How refreshing to hear of an honest seller! ;) So glad it's all working out for you, he sounds lovely (and gorgeous!!)
Pictures pleaseee, we need to see this beauty :D

Yes when I bought my pony I had her on 2 months trial, the seller even delivered her from 100 miles away and lent me a saddle until I could get my own - but as you say if its the right horse and they think you are the right person for her then they will be pretty confident that things will be ok and they were.

Congratulations!! I hope you have a wonderful life together. I was lucky to have an honest seller as well (in fact I have for most of mine). I only got a text from my new boy's old owner tonight asking how he was doing - I like to know they still care after they have sold them, it really means something. :)

hes anglo arab and yes totally gorgeous! im so lucky hes wonderful-a saint on 4 legs. he was an eventer so can do a bit of everything and he really loves life. he was a schoolmaster for teaching working pupils with a professional eventer, and so is perfect in everyway! i keep thinking im going to wake up and it is a dream-im sooo lucky !:D:D:D:D

Some of us are honest, i have sold 2 this week to people who bought from me unseen last year, they came back for more!!!

I like to think i was honest when selling mine. I let her go on a months trial, delivered her over 200 miles away, they bought her within a week of the trial and absolutely adore her. I get regular updates on how she is doing and i know she has a home for life.

As others have said if there is nothing to hide then people will help as much as they can.

He looks lovely i hope you have lots of fun together.

Your boy is lovely! congratulations!

So nice to hear about honest sellers!

Last week I sent my loan horse back as she was nothing like they had said in the ad. I was also given a contract in which they said no jumping at all.
Have today found out the horse is now at my friends, she's had her a week and has been posting vids of her jumping and the owner has posted a forsale ad..... and she's nothing like they have said. Such a shame.

As another horse hunter who has been looking for the right horse for months and seen many duffers along the way, this thread gives me hope!

Congratulations to you and your lovely new boy! Hope you have many many fun times together.

:)

Both horses that I bought were exactly as described by the sellers.

There are straightforward and honest people out there but they probably don't get much press because satisfied buyers have nothing to moan about and keep smugly quiet!

Glad your pleased! x I like happy stories! x

the owners of my mare were sooo honest when i viewed her, said she bites, is super marish, will buck, but is an amazing competition horse and she is exactly that. They even said that she 'might of' had a hobday operation before she was imported from Holland - (shes KWPN) and vet can't find any signs that this may be the case but was nice that i was told that it was a possibility. I was also told that the girl that the yard owner bought her for wasn't a good enough rider for her and she took the mick and became 'unrideable'. As soon as i saw her i was ready to pay the money, shes stunning and has won or been placed in every competition we've done. I'm so glad they were honest and i truely believe they wouldn't of sold her to me if she wasnt right for me or her.

I'd always be honest if i was selling a horse now but when i was younger and my mum tried to sell my pony i used to give her the odd 'jab' to make her buck so it put people off hehe! Still got her now, shes 24 and a semi-retired companion! :D x
