Honey update - photo's still quite extreme!

I disagree! The pictures show the original injuries to be healing BEAUTIFULLY.

Either your mare is an excellent healer or (more likely) she has had dedicated and diligent care taken of what I do agree were pretty horrible wounds. A real well done to you! I bet your vet is pretty happy, too. Hope the darkest days are over for Honey and you and that the twerps who let her out have a rubbish rest of their lives.

Moonwalker - so sorry to hear that your chap didn't make it. I think everyone around here is stunned that Honey did, even the vets - thank god.

Vet was out again today. In general they are happy with how she is progressing and to just keep on with what I'm doing at present. The only one they want to consult on is the front fetlock as they feel she could really do with skin grafts now; but being so low down they're not sure if they'll take and quite honestly I don't have money to waste!! Vet that came today isn't really up on laser therapy so she was going to have a chat with Jim (big vet) and will contact my physio for more info to see if they think it worth a try before grafts. Will wait to hear. Until then they want me to leave that one alone, just keeping up with the saline wash but not to put anything else on it.

So all in all I'm pretty happy with our progress.

You daft bugger! Am soooo pleased. These look to be coming along a treat, yes the last one is huge but they look healthy and clean. Fingers crossed she keeps progressing well, it just goes to show a bit of determination and dedication pays off go pat yourself on the head

Oh wow, they look soooo much better! Well done to you for sticking at it - I know from personal experience that it gets v boring dealing with wounds on a daily basis, & I only had one wound in one place to see to!

I bet that loads of healing is going on under the surface so that you can't see it, so maybe they'll suddenly get loads better all at once.

Hi there! Glad to know that Honey is doing ok. The wounds only look awful to me due to their size I suppose, but it looks as if you are doing a great job and they look clean and healthy wounds! Im glad Honey is a good patient! When they are helpful at least they stand a fighting chance.
Fingers still crossed for you both.

Yep what a fab job you are doing! They do look big but clean and starting to heal, which is the main thing. Well done to both of you!

She is one very lucky horse to have come through all that. Wounds look like they are healing up very well.
You are doing a fantastic job with her.
