I know its supposed to be black/grey. But what if its grey/clear ? How do you know when its definitely stopped draining?
Not necessarily. By simply being bandaged up it can still smell pretty bad. It does indeed stink, but im not relying on that alone. I am concerned that clear pus is just sort of gunk from the poultice and not pus that has discharged from the hoof. There does still seem to be a bit of grey gunk too so I won't stop poulticing just yet.I think you'd know by the smell of the poultice you remove if there is pus still coming out.
I had clear faint yellow pus/discharge for about a week after the main gunk came out. I couldn't believe how long it kept draining for. I suspect a lot of people have it but done see it due to dirt etc. I was luckily able to keep the poultice and foot scrupulously ckeanNot necessarily.
