Hi, This is also in Tack Room. My boys hooves do not suit conventional shoeing. What can anyone recommend re hoof boot brands/ type. Ease of use & durability. Any input welcome. Thanks.

Hi.

It all depends upon their shape and what you intend to do, hacking wise. Many FB page members will say Cavallos - but they are no good for slim feet. Neither are renegades and scoot boots, but clumpy fusion and Old Macs are, for example.

Liz at www.hoofboutiques.co.uk is extremely helpful. Her website tells you how to measure, has a sizing chart for the available brands, and she is happy to talk things through with you - may even ask you to send in a template (draw around the horse's hoof and scan it in). There are other companies, of course - Equine Podiatry Supplies, e.g. but I'm afraid I got no further than Liz.

Cavallo sports come in slim fitting but definitely speak to hoof boutique they will take the pain out of the search for the right boot and right size!
