Hoof boots for shod horse

Any helpful suggestions as looking for Hoof boots just to use to from the field over a short horse’s feet as path is stony and rough. I think Cavello are probably the ones to go for. Has anyone done this? And did you just measure over the shoe? Thanks.

I'd use Cavellos and have done on a shod pony. If you are only using them to and from the field, they are also the easiest to get on and off imo. I've also used All Terrain Ultras on the same shod pony and they were also fine (I also used them for turnout).

Yes indeed. Have been doing that but thinking more long term.

Wonder if you could make a cast with loads of duct tape over a nappy that you slip on? I did this for a dog and make a boot over a sock. Lasted quite long time.

Good idea I did reinforce something similar before with old human knee protectors. May have another play.

I also saw once someone converted men’s sliders into hoof boots for smallish ponies.

I have used Cavallo boot with kevlar pads over shoes for a prolific shoe loser. They recommend the pads to stop the shoes damaging the boot.
