I dug out the hoofboots and managed to find 4 that are more or less intact. Took it slowly, not too far, and not too often. I didn't put hind boots on to start with, but decided that he wasn't too comfortable, so today was "shod" all round.
Different horse, straighter horse, obviously more comfortable horse that looked pretty happy to be out, rather than reluctant shuffle there has been in recent weeks. To be fair, it was the farrier who wanted to take his shoes off to give his feet a rest two weeks ago, but I was aware of some issues. Wanting to get on the verge all the time, drifting over to the right. Perfectly sound but not that enthusiastic to be out.
So now having got used to being in the boots again, I am looking forward to some much longer rides, regardless of whether it is raining or not. And hopefully horse will love his "trainers" and want to go for miles and miles.
