I have a tb mare she was not shoed for 5 years before i purchased her since she was out at grass and not ridden much last year i started to ride and her toes was wore down so i had her fronts on then same happened to backs i was considering hoof boots prior to shoes but no one had any info down my yard i had to take her shoes of backs after only 3 shoeings cause they cracking up i changed farrier he recomends them boots of a place called atlantic i found site in usa called renegade has any one experenced boot from these companys or know what the best place to get some

Lots of information, I use the G2's, but I have just ordered a pair of Gloves. They work very well imo saves a bit of money too.

you need to choose the ones that best fit your horses hooves.
they are all different and so some will suit better than others.
i use Old Mac G2's which have been good.

I also use old mac G2's on my big mare on her fore, very good, very sturdy, no slipping on the road either as she did with front shoes on, she is very heavy on her forehand. Really like them.

agree with Aran, the best ones depend on your horses hoof shape etc. Mine has perfectly round feet, so the Boa ones suit her best.

I have easyboot epics on my mare - and am really really pleased with them. I do nearly all road work and very little off road, and the boots lasted for nearly 2 years before the tread became a little slippery.

Definitely check which ones are best suited to your horses foot shape - ask your farrier to help you if you aren't sure. I brought the old macs G2's first, only to find that they really didn't suit my horse at all - completely the wrong shape.

I have a pair of renegades for my tbs back feet and I love them. They are easy to fit and very easy to clean. However, you need to measure your horses feet carefully. The only drawback to these boots, is that you have to have them imported from the states. But the people who own the company are very helpful and friendly when you need to email them for information. If your horses feet are wider than they are longer, then sorry renegades will not fit, as I found with Charlies front feet. On his front feet he wears old mac g1s, and after a lot of research, they are the only boots, that will fit his shape of feet. If you need any more info then please pm me.
