Hoof boots

Any recommendations? Horse is a tb, fair amount of bone! Struggling a bit barefoot (first summer) so think we need a little extra support!

Ones that fit! It's a bit like says "what saddle should I buy my horse' . One saddle fits one horses, aother fits another. It depends entirely on the size and shape of the feet.

Have a look at The Saddlery Shop, who specialise in hoof boots and give advice too.

If they fit, Easyboot gloves are great and would always be my first choice, but they don't suit all feet.

Roughly speaking - this is what my trimmer recommended:

Old mac/Cavallos - boots that come up over the whole hoof are excellent for transitioning and are great because you can use pads with them really effectively which helps stimulate the hoof.

Easy boots and one's you can't pad with less hoof coverage are more a secondary - "moving on" boot for people who just need a little extra.

I hope that makes sense and I'm not giving false info but anyway for my horse who needs more support to get her feet getting the blood around, the recommended the former with pads

gloves or renegades however you will probably save a lot of money if you approach a trimmer who also fits boots. That way you will end up with a pair of boots suitable for what you want to do and that actually fit your horse so you won't have to worry.
