These XRays show progress and they are saying the rotation is improving… I can’t see that it’s much different to the ffirst XRay. Can someone explain please

Hmm, I don't actually think that it looks good. It looks like the hoof has been trimmed to change the plantar angle but actually the angles are way off because if you look at the alignment with the hoof wall they are at different angles which isnt what you should be aiming for at all

It still looks pretty bad to me, too, that horse is by no means out of the woods yet.

There’s been a big change in the foot balance, the toes are much longer, heels are lower, but the pedal bone angle is still very rotated.

ETA I’m not of the knowledgeable HHO hoof geeks, though, so would be happy to be corrected by a hoof geek wot knows what they are on about 🙂.

I suppose the timeline isn't long. First photo was 31st July and the last photo was 9th September so only about a 6-week interval. I wouldn't expect much to change in that time.
I have just seen the same x-rays posted on a well known and rather controversial site ;)

I am no X ray expert, but looking at the middle ones and the last ones, there is more sole between pedal bone and the outside of the sole - which I would take as very good news!

The toes getting so long, I don't like.

The first ones look like the heel is a typical one where there has been long term lami going on. Rigs had this, along with lines, showing his lami progression. Since I've had him, his feet have changed considerably. That said, it was over a period of about 16 months, not 6 weeks.

Oh I assumed these hooves belonged to the poster's horse!

You can see some new hoof growing in at a better angle which is promising and will eventually grow a better hoof all being wwll. The breakover will be being badly affected by the long toes so they need to be addressed to help get back to normal action.

I agree with the above. I am sure you can see a better depth of sole underneath the pedal bone and the new hoof growth is following a much better angle.

Lol i sent this same picture to my trimmer and said this doesn’t look good to me, i don’t like the alignment of the bones and the refusal to trim the toe is bizarre to me, he agreed and said they’re bonkers 🤣

If you read the explanation for the long toes, either on that photo or the one below, they babble pseudoscience to try to confuse you into believing it

I have deleted them as they are not of my horse and didn’t realise I would cause a problem posting , I just wanted to
Understand why everyone was saying how much better they were , I can see the soles look thicker but I would expect that if shoes are taken off, I just can’t see that the angles have changed, and wanted help to see what I was missing .

I don’t see the problem in sharing the photo, it’s on a public FB page so not exactly hidden out of public view, if it’s the same ones i looked at earlier.

I don’t see that they have improved significantly

I wasn't saying there was s problem, sorry if you took it that way.

It’s ok it wasn’t you , I posted on the vet thread and was asked to remove it so have done the same on here ☺️
I asked splashgirl45 to remove it. It may be better to avoid trouble for FAT if we don't post pics from the FB pages of HM, Phoenix or Gawsworth track livery (unless of course we have their permission which is unlikely)

I don't see why one couldn't put a link to the appropriate FB page then people could look for themselves. Or at least those, unlike me, who are not banned. :D:D
