After readin becki2003's posts and few others about the speed at which their horses feet have grown recently - is anyone else noticing/experiencing this atm? I know I am! My 3 were trimmed on Aug 17th and are due already!! They normally go a good 6 weeks...... Berry and B sometimes a bit longer

Me too!! Molly used to go 7 or 8 weeks. Now she goes 5! And when the farrier came last week, he couldnt believe how much hoof she'd grown - said she could/should have been done at 4 weeks!

Same with Mo. She used to be 6 weeks, but now it's 5 max. I soooooo wish they could go barefoot.

! the others arent too bad as im doing lots of roadwork so theyre keeping their feet worn really well

Me too although I know why. Last year I was getting through shoes every 4 weeks and they were paper thin when it was time. He was not growing any hoof so had problems with cracks and splits and big chunks coming our around the nail holes. I actually managed a whole year of shoeing and there was nothing for my farrier to trim...only a quick rasp!!!!
This year they have been growing well but I put that down to me introducing a hoof supplement at the start of the year and also, he has not been ridden for 4 months due to my back problems and I think the lack of road work concussion must have something to do with it too.
