Hi
Has anyone used Gold Label Hoof Hardener ?
My old lad is unshod behind and while he's fine on sound surfaces, he's a bit pottery when on stoney ground (which is basically our drive - stables to road - about 3/4 mile). Been suggested I try a hoof hardener just to toughen up the soles and frog.
I don't want to put shoes on unless I really have to - his level of activity is fairly sedate at the moment and when we are on the roads we only ever walk anyway.
Any suggestions ? Thanks

I need to get some for my TB who has softish frogs. was told to use Keratex Hoof Hardener which is the best. Would be interested to find out if there is anything better too.

Vet recommended my friend to wash there horses feet with bleach diluted in water works a treat and much cheaper!

Keratex did nothing for my horse. Since I gave up on that I have been putting Cornucrescine on... it's hardened my nails up at least!

used to use keratex until was told it does more damage than good and am now using cornucresine instead (the one with the brush in it) - my boys got rubbish feet so not sure how good it is.

My mare never used to be able to keep shoes on for more than 4 weeks at a time, have been using cornucresine now for over a year and her feet are fantastic - the only downside is that it does take a while for the benefits to start showing
