Here is my long story...I am wondering if anyone has any similar experiences or can help!

About 8 weeks ago my horse went lame in front. Vet came out and said less then 1/10th lame, only visible at trot on the lunge. Suggested no work for 2 weeks and then try again. Horse came sound, started hacking etc and stayed sound so did some schooling and stayed sound for about 3 weeks. Then went lame, only very slightly, again. Vet nerve blocked which shows the pain is in the foot. When the foot is blocked out horse goes slightly lame in the other leg! Took him in for xrays which were all absolutely fine. A tiny bit of arthritis in coffin but the coffin was blocked and the lameness didn't improve so the vet does not think this is an issue.
Horse has not got the greatest feet and vet thought the foot balance was slightly off so we decided to get horse reshod and make sure the foot balance was better and go from there. Farrier has been out and reshod and he is happy with the foot balance. Vet has been to see horse again since being reshod and is happy with the feet now. Horse still slightly lame in front so vet is referring him for an MRI now as he thinks this is probably a tendon issue.
I am driving myself crazy waiting for an MRI, I am so worried this will be the end to my horse's working life! Does anyone have any advice / ideas / been through a similar situation? The vet has told me to keep hacking until the MRI to see if my horse will 'work out' of his lameness...I don't know what to do! Any advice would be very gratefully received :)

If he 'doesn't have the greatest feet' a period of barefoot would definitely help him sort his feet out. You don't have to stay bf forever but it would definitely benefit him in the long run to have some time out of shoes. I'd advise searching bf threads on here, looking at the Rockley Farm blog and basically just reading up loads about it so you're as well informed as possible. What is his diet like?
