Hi guys,
My horse came up lame a few days ago on the lunge, just on the lunge in one direction in trot, not hopping lame just head bobbing slightly. I ran him up both directions on hard ground and he was fine. He is walking out fine also.
The day he went lame he was shod, so I and other people thought it must be shoe related, called my farrier and he did not really want to come and have a look (to much agg I suppose when not earning any money also very cheeky I know) he took the shoe off and said no sole bruising no abscess no bad nail nothing. He put the shoe back on and said my horse was scrapping the brick wall very badly during shoeing and he is 99% sure it is this. My horse is very impatient young warmblood and does behave like this often.
He has no swelling or cuts anywhere and a tiny bit of heat around top of hoof.
So my question is - Would my horse scrapping his foot hard on the brick wall cause a slight lameness?
He has advised to give him the weekend off and turn out as usual and it will be fine again, I will take his advise and call a vet in a few days if still not sound.
Thanks
