Deano's coming up to two months barefoot and has now been seen by the trimmer. Took these last night. Any observations appreciated.

Sorry if they are huge. Can only access photobucket from my phone.

Impressive angle change growing in on all of those feet, but particularly front left! This is the most exciting time of barefoot rehab imo :D. Just think how different those feet will look (and function!) when the new growth reaches the floor. Some good changes happening already though - thanks for the pics :).

Thank you TwoStroke. I can't get over the angle change to be honest! Can't wait to see what happens as it gets further down.

I had one who had a hoof just like that on the same leg as your boy - the angle change was just as acute and watching it grow down and his hoof develop was fascinating! Will try and find the pics and PM you - his foot now looks completely different :)

I agree with Twostroke - I gasped when I saw the angle change on the front left and scrolled back to look at the others more closely!
Fascinating - thanks for posting.

Wow the difference is amazing!
Thanks for posting - hoping to take my boy barefoot next time his feet are due and these photos are really encouraging!

Can i ask what your feeding/turnout regime is?

Brilliant, thank you. Will look forward to seeing them. I think he is moving straighter as well - his back right hoof used to twist in when he walked and this is definately less noticable.

You're welcome, thank you for your comments. Sometimes it is hard to see the changes when you are looking at them every day!

It look me ages to build up the courage!
Diet has been tricky - my boy appears to be really oversensitive to linseed so both the micronized stuff and fast fibre have sent him totally loopy. He is currently on two cupfulls of spillers high fibre nuts soaked to carry his pro balance, brewers yeast and salt with a handful of Hi FI mollasses free which I am about to phase out and replace with Halley's Top Chop as my trimmer thinks the alfalfa is contributing to him still being very footy on stones and gravel. I'm also about to add charcoal to see if it will help his gut - droppings have always been very loose and more so now the good grass is here. He gets adlib hay in his stable at night time and is out on good grazing for 12 hours a day. Obviously this is not ideal but he seems to be managing, I may have to think about a muzzle in the future as he is on livery.
We have been building up walking out on the roads where he is sound and happy in hand in walk (wearing boots in front) and have introcuded a small amount of ridden work in the school - walk with a few bursts of trot in a straight line (apart from when he was on the fast fibre, then we did aerial movements at speed...)
Sorry that is a total essay. It really hasn't been as complicated as that makes it sound!

Lovely frogs.

Angle change is a real wow. Please continue to document this in pictures - I'd love to keep the shots as teaching aids.

Good progress so far.
