Hes exactly 24 hours overdue his 6 weekly shoeing cycle at this point, and has been on a good barefoot diet for about 7 weeks. Hes getting his shoes off and a barefoot trimmer is coming out on Sunday. Hes foot sore over the gritty bit of the drive going out to the field even in shoes, and has over the last couple of weeks escalated to being very unwiling to go back out once hes come in. He walks in fine over it, so might just be him bein unwilling to leave his room service stable! LGL is a worry for me. He moves yards on Saturday and will be in for a week in quarantine then on very limited grass, with a grazing muzzle if necessay. But other than that bit of gravel/grit on the drive hes marching out looking sound as a pound and freer and more active than when I bought him, so culd just be one of his quirks, he has a few :D

To me they don't actually look that bad for shod feet. Yes the hoof wall is crumbling, but that will resolve itself once the shoes come off as it will no longer be weakened further by the nails, and the new diet will soon manifest itself in a stronger wall growing down.
The heels look somewhat contracted, but that too will be addressed when his caudal hoof starts getting stimulated.

He is def growing hoof, and it seems better since I changed his diet. Might be wishful thinking but hes def growing mane and tail hair :D I am very worried about how much hoof he is going to lose though! I just want a sound and happy horse as hes such a superstar and I love the very bones of him! I really wanted to enjoy the summer riding, but its more important that I fix his feet :)

It's just one specific section. Once he's on the flat concrete he's fine. Could just be him though. He is a funny little horse and has all sorts of odd habits :D
