Farrier's Formula, Formula4Feet, NAF Pro Feet would be the top of the range.

Otherwise a basic Biotin supplement.

You will obviously have to be patient to see results as the hoof will take probably 6 months to grow down to the nail holes

I have the same problem, my little mare is a tb and has feet like you would not belive. I have had her on hoof and hide for around 8 months now and have had great results. hoof oils such as effol etc are not good for the hoof as they do not allow the hoof to breath and absord moisture therefore they dry out quicker and crack, the best thing to put on hooves is udder salve as it allows the hoof to breath. hoof and hide is now coming out of the stores to make way for there new produck hoof and sole i think its called. i have also seen new feed that dengi have made which is a chaff but is aimed at horses with poor hoof condition it is called helthey hoof. hope this helps

I use Hoof Moist during the summer (started now) as it is water based and lets the hoof breath and have started mine on Feedmark's hoof supplement...although it will be months before I see the benfits of that though.

Barons were the same last year, I used keratex hoof moisture on his hooves and Biotin in his feed, his hooves were in perfect condition in 14 weeks (we was fully shod so after 2 visits from the farrier all cracks were gone).

I feed topspec, which has biotin etc in it already, and use Kevin Bacon dressing. I recently asked my farrier anout the small cracks I've got around nail holes, and he said they can be caused by bacteria 'eating' away around the old nail holes. I have got some special disinfectant stuff off him, which he uses on lots of horses, it is tea tree based I think. I only got it last week, so will keep you posted!

Ive got the "crumbly hoof" problem rearing it's head again now! Boy lost shoe again today. Can honestly say Topspec is great for feet, had him on it year before lst, no crumbly feet at the end of that year or most of last year, stopped feeding a hoof supplement last year as thought he actually had decent feet, about 6mnths later (when nails in "new" growth) crumbly feet again

He still pulls shoes when his ffet are good, but doesnt take half of hoof off with it....
