Just wondered if anyone has had problems getting their horses to eat the recommended diet associated with barefoot? My horse really loves his healthy hoof made by dengie which I have recently discovered is mollassed! He hated hi-fi light. I only give him a handful so not a big deal right now. Will need to sort him out for winter.

My old chap can be quite fussy (had some Mollichaff to use up and he wouldn't touch it!) He'll eat almost anything if it's mixed in with Fast Fibre. He loves the stuff, so he gets that with linseed and a Forage Plus balancer for his feet - which has made a visible difference. He's less fussy about eating the Pro Balance one, though... but the FF will hide a lot!

My girl is fussy in general but when we went barefoot she was so used to eating sweets every morning and evening she wouldn't go near anything barefoot friendly even in the height of winter when she was starving. She can still be fussy with certain things now and I find fenugreek is quite good. Ive also tried mint but for her I found sprinkling a layer on top of the the food rather than mixing it in was what worked. If all else fails then grate some apple or carrot in and phase it out slowly.

I'm using half a mug of speedi beet with a heaped round scoop of a chaff. This chaff will change depending on his lordship, I got away with safe and sound for a long time but when summer comes he becomes very fussy.

I've had to use an apple flavour chaff just to get his powders down him, this is a big no no as very high in sugar but I'm that concerned with getting his powders into him I do whatever it takes.

If he's not fussy I would use fast fibre but unfortunately my horse wont eat this.
