I’ve been looking at taking my parsons Jack Russell to some Hoopers training. She’s full of energy, and on the whole pretty well behaved. Locally there aren’t any classes I can make till April. I was just wondering who else does this with their dogs? Is there anything specific they practiced before starting?! And most importantly - do your dogs love it?!

No help really as we've not started yet but it's our plan to start in Spring. She's only 8 months old and has still got 6 weeks of her obedience classes left so when they finish we're going to start with a few one to one hooper classes.
We don't know what our pup is, she was born at a rehoming centre but she's a bit pointer like, with buddles of energy and enjoys learning. I *think* she'll love it.

I'd be interested to know how you get on if you do go. There's an agility thread on the forum which might be worth posting on.

We do it. I started as something for my retired agility dog to do together. Mine have a blast doing it. There is an element of teaching the dog to work away from you, so maybe work on that, create a hoop if you don't have any by going through gaps away from you or through a tunnel. If you are going to get some hoops, get the bottomless ones ( no rail across the bottom), as there have been dogs damaging toes on them, so the trend is moving away from those.
