....15th July.
I'm already on hols so don't have to wangle time off work. So long as all the other people involved can do this date we are all set! Fingers crossed......

Wow how did you wangle a lesson with Robert Smith, I obviously missed this first time round - was it a competition? Hope it all works out for you, what a fab opportunity - nothing better than a lesson from a top rider! You out and about this weekend?

Yes I won it in a competition in Horse magazine back in December and its been really hard to pin him down to an actual date that suits everyone. I was so excited when I won and danced round the house like a loony but I daren't get my hopes up until its all confirmed as its been at this stage a few times before. I'm also dreading making a fool of myself.
This weekend we are playing at dressage (which we aren't terribly good at LOL). I'm having a lesson with Tracey Woodhead on Saturday and then down at Richmond on Sunday for P12 and N30. I didn't realise the Area 12 show was also on this weekend and is literally just up the road from me at Jamie Atkinson's or I would of gone to that instead but it'll do Jenny good to have a change this weekend and do some flatwork.

Stressage instead of showjumping, is it hot where you are today? Do you need a little lie down hehehe? I obviously missed the bit about the lesson, must have been when I was out in the wilderness without HHO. You'll be fine, you going to his place or is he coming to you? You ever had a lesson with a 'pro' as such before? It will make such a difference! I had a lesson with Peter Murphy last year, I was really stressed about it but got in and it was great! Was only jumping BN/Disc at the time but he managed to get me jumping round a decent 1.10m track before I knew what had hit me! Also had the pleasure of a certain Mr Billington helping me to warm up for a 1.20 class donkeys ago on my coloured cob - my mum says she's never seen me so quiet or concentrating on my riding so much! I was pretty terrified I have to say... We're going to champions of Scotland tomorrow, leaving at 8am yuck. Good luck with the stressage

Well I used to have regular lessons off Pauline Wakefield who was quite well known in her time and did go to a clinic with Alan Fazackerley about 4 years ago - I think he despaired of us though as Jenny was quite insistant that we could go down a 5 stride related distance on 4 strides every time.

I usually have lessons off Phillippa McKeever - I don't know if you know her - she sometimes competes up your way.
PS yes its boiling down here today - dressage definitely takes a back seat usually and I have to say there is a good chance I won't renew my BD membership when it expires but I really wanted a crack at the Spillers Combined Training series this year. Unfortunately Northallerton isnt a venue anymore so Doncaster will be the closest.

I def know Phillipa's name, she jumps at Rowallan quite regularly but I don't really know her - prob know her face though, when you work behind the bar there for any length of time you get to know all the faces! How did stressage go?
