I raced from oxford back to worcestershire yesterday as the farrier was due, and nancys feet a little too overgrown (front shod) Got 3 bags of carrots and a tube of sedalin, and she normally has the whole tube. Today the farrier said, just give her half - eek! So i squashed it on a carrot and in it went. half an hour later she was hot front shod, and backs nicely shaped, and I hardly had to hold the leadrope - not because she was doped (couldnt tell any difference!) she just stood there and had about 4 carrots during, just so she knew how proud I was of her!! So I just thought I would say for all those with horses who are naughty with their feet - keep persevering it will get better!! To think my vet (of 30 years experience) said get rid of her cus at 6 she wouldnt learn to pick them up..........!!!
