Rupert is given veggie oil, feedmark benevit and feedmark extra flex ha as well as speddi beat, calme and condition and alfa a oil. I am REALLY happy with his coat and general health but not that happy with his hooves. They are cracking, are there any specific suplements i coudl use to improve, he gets a hoof oil dressing apporx twice a week. thanks in advance

thanks for help, i am unsure, he was on topspec so maybe put him back on that?! Not sure if to go down biotin, seaweed, or specific hoof formula eg farriers formula etc etc? Also, if his coat is looking great then is that a good indication that he really is not lacking in anything dramaticaly?

I used Vetvits feet supplement with very good results. My lad went through a phase of pulling his shoes off and taking the hoof wall with it.after two tubs of vetvits his feet are looking 100% better. And it was on offer a 30 day supply was £30 reduced down to £15 and you get bogof so that worked out at £15 for 60 day supply plus £4 p+p.

I used to use Farriers Formula religiously. But with soooo many horses now it became awfully expensive so I started looking for something to replace it - now please don't laugh but what I did find to replace it is about 1/50th of the price and is totally natural......Black Oil Sunflower Seeds.

Honestly - they are fabulous for feet. I've 25 horses here, living in Arctic conditions and all but 3 living out 24/7, all barefoot and every single one has fantastic feet. You could ask me to go and take a photo of ANY of my horses feet and you would see that they are all beautiful.

farriers formula-worked a treat!!he didnt keep shoes on for more than four weeks before, now he is keeping them on for six without any shoes off. however this took about 8 months!but since the horn growth is good i have now stopped using it, i have just kept it up with a general supplement which includes biotin.

Formula4Feet. It is the only supplement I have found that really does do the job. If you feed it, make sure you stop feeding the Feedmark Benefit as you will be overloading if you feed both.

My horses feet were dreadful he had a really bad sandcrack and started to look like a goat, he always used to lose shoes (he still does but not as often and this is more due to him being a twat) I tried lots of things and have stuck with Topspec as it contains the right amount of biotin and lots of other goodies. I think I may be the only one at my yard on it but I am also the only one with just one supplement which is mint as I thought he would enjoy the taste! He is in fantastic condition and looks just as well if not better then some of the horses on a scoop of this, a cup of that, some of these....
