Got my TB out the field as usual this morning, hosed off his muddy hooves, and started to tack up.
Was picking out his feet when I noticed one side (front and back) were warm and the other were cold?
Is this normal?
I took him out expecting to see head
Bobbing and he seemed fine. No lameness in front or back?
I took him to the woods and stood in the stream for a good 10 minutes and hosed again when we got home.

Just been out to do my evening check and one side is still warm and one cold (same side as before)

Am I missing something?

Doubt it means anything at all. My farrier used to think horse owners were forever seeing if there was heat in their horse's feet which he thought was meaningless. If your horse is sound then stop worrying, they can have enough real symptoms without going looking for problems !

Often their feet can feel like that just because the horse itself is feeling warm. I used to over worry about mine like that but after many years it never was anything sinister so just accept that's how he is. As already suggested so long as he's sound don't worry.

Just keep an eye on it, there is loads of reasons why horses feet can be warm, mine had a abscess brewing she wasn't lame to start with just heat in her hoof wall a week later she was very slightly lame and it burst last week.
