Just read Hopetoun Horse Trials won't be running anymore. Such a shame, having another international event in Scotland was great after the down grading of Burgie.

I did it when it first started and had the lower events too. It was great event with lots of atmosphere. It was the year Zara Phillips got married so there were lots of big names there.

It seems to be the way of a lot of events on 'estates' now...

Such a shame, however I am not surprised, running an event is so costly and I expect pretty stressful.

SB can talk the talk alright, but as soon as he got involved I thought it was doomed to failure.

Sad news but you could see it was going to happen. there were hardly any entries compared to other internationals so it did look to be struggling.
hopefully the grassroots will return, i have always loved Hopetoun
