hi, me & mine are considering moving to Scotland & i would really apreciate some info, we are at the moment thinking of around the Wick area, say about a 30-40 mile radius can anyone suggest a good spot to look into?
'we' are myself, my adult not horsey sons + our pack of assorted dogs & my camargue horse, although she is only 13.2hh they are ALWAYS called horses not ponies,
(i will be looking to get her a companion once we move).
the info i need is the availability of grazing to buy or rent, i don't need a lot as she is by nature a sofa on legs, re hay whats the going rate for middling quality for a natural fatty & whats availability like? ditto for feed, we use plain rolled or crushed mixed cerials from our local mill.
whats the riding like is it easy to access the open country? i am a disabled rider so i have problems getting on & off so if i have to keep opening gates its a bloomin' pain!
