anyone been there recently? has it changed lots in the past few years? also for the open days do you HAVE to wear a body protector?

cheers Kate, the last time i went round was just before I retired Ebi so it miust be about 4 and a bit years ago now. ive been on their website and theres an open weekend in the next few weeks and thinking about taking both Ebi and the big bird.

Hi Daisy!
It's not changed a great deal but there are a few new challenges, like the really, skinny beer barrels (wooden) at the very end. And last open day two new plastic brush fences at odd angles appeared in the field beyond the water jump. I do remember when you last came, but can't remember what's changed since - there may be a few more new ones. YO tends to add something new or replace one or two each year. I think the next open weekend is 25/26 July. Apart from testing out the new brush fences and seeing if I can get the old boy over the double of barrells (have managed the solo one) I don't think I'll be doing much else - have done it all so many times LOL.
Just remembered that the bottom arena has been extended which means that one of the drop fences is now non-existant so makes it an odd angle to go from the bigger drop to the next smaller fence! Will be good for your steering, if nothing else!
As for Body protectors I really don't know if it's compulsory. I always wear mine when jumping so never had to think about it. I guess as its a BHS approved course, it might be but you can always ask when you get there.

cheers G, thanks for all that. Dont know abiout the skinnies, brushes etc, itll only be the 2nd time Chants been jumping but nothing like throwing myself into the deep end with her. She loves jumping so sure shell love it over at yours.

shes back on top form now, cant remember if shed lost it when you met her and i retired her shortly after but honestly you wouldnt believe her now, shes back and acting the stupid 3yo she used to be - shes grwing old disgracefully
id best bring my BP with me just in case they want me to wear it, nothing worse than being reufsed on if i havent got it with mer

yay thats great stuff, will probably end up going aaround 10ish both days that way i can get home and ride the other 2 (were playing backing now with Willow)
