Horizontal lines?

lots of horizontal lines on the outside hoof wall have suddenly appeared (literally!) What does this mean? Only thing I can think of is horse has just moved to a new paddock with a lot more grass in but she's only been in there less than a week ?
Help!
 
Its amazing how quickly you can tell the change in diet. My mare gets these within days of being on good grass. Im not sure why it happens maybe the hoof wall gets weaker because of the sugars in the grass and what I notice is that my mare flares quite quickly on sugary grass so the lines maybe stress lines. Im no expert but so will look forward to someone who knows their stuff replying.

Am I better taking her off the grass?
 
I think that people who have not seen it will scoff at how quickly the laminae stretch when the diet goes wrong. If your horse's feet were not particularly strong, and the laminae glueing them together stretched, then they will have curved outwards a bit at the bottom. That will have shortened the outside of the foot, and 'wrinkled' the outer 'cover' , which may be what you are seeing. It's a warning to reduce the carbs in the diet.

Neither have I. I can imagine it, but only if the wall is really quite weak already. A bit like what would happen if you bend a thick soft piece of cardboard.
