Opinions / advice needed on Moody / Hormonal Mare products please !!!!! Also if anyone has ever fed Raspberry Leaf / Chastetree Berrys etc...
My Mare is not overally grumpy in the field just can not be groomed etc and is a bit slugish when ridden.. Just concerned shes in pain with it.

I have been feeding Agnus Castus (chasteberry) to my mare for about 10 days, she was revolted at the taste (it tastes and smells quite peppery so may not be for a fussy eater... Yeah I tasted it). I can't say it has made much difference to behaviour yet but she seems a little less sensitive about being touched past her 'waist' which she could be very grumpy about. She is quite sluggish to ride so hoping it will make an improvement there.

I got it from pro earth on eBay, and she has mag ox from there as well. They're very good, and cheap!

I use oestress on my mare! She isn't grumpy as such, but she is constantly rubbing the walls, other horses, trees, squirting every 2 minutes when she is in season... Yuk!
She can be a bit touchy too and I have to say the oestress has made a massive difference to her!

Thanks guys she's fine in the field with others not seen her squirting yet.. thank god !!! She's just really really sensitive, she's not a cuddly mare on normal days but is worse when in season, I've tried to get on eBay at progressive earth but it kept saying no products to show :-/ just out of curiosity mandwhy are you feeding it dry or are u soaking it ??

I think pro earth is cheaper but not by that much, I bought a big bag for 18 pounds as I was buying other stuff.

I always dampen feeds so I just put the powder in with that, have reduced the amount of water though as she started leaving the remaining liquid (probably where the supplement goes!).

Get a gelding :D that will cure the grumps ;)

Delicia is a tart, but not grumpy in season so none of the above products helped. Telling her to get a grip apprently doesnt help either....

I love mine too but after a little exhibition today im willing to have second thoughts on that front ;)

Dee is so heavily in season we passaged up the yard squirting!!!! I did not raise her with such loose morals!
