Hello,

Hope everybody is well.

My mare seems to have been in season/squirting for the past month plus. Quite heavily as well as having to wash her back legs fairly often with it being all over them. Now I know this is not really normal for her as have never needed to wash her legs before while in season etc.

We moved yards in September so was initially thinking it was just down to this and she was taking a bit longer to settle in to a new heard. But she is still in season and becoming rather grumpy with it.

She always has been a little sensitive around her teats especially when in season, but I'm usually able to give them a good wash more so after exercise, but I'm currently unable to do this with out nearly having my head taking off, and she is just getting worse. She's far worse than she has ever been with me (Owned her 5 years).

Also she appears to be quite sore behind where the saddle sits in her loin region. So im pondering if she has a problem with her ovries?

You can brush touch all under her tummy until you get to her teats and inside back legs and all hell lets loose.

Any one got any thoughts?

Thank you in advance
HR

Could indeed be problems with ovaries; consider getting the vet who will probably do a rectal and ultrasound to check them out, plus or minus other tests.
